Governor, CM greet on Cheiraoba

Governor Gurbachan Jagat and Chief Minister O Ibobi have greeted the people of the State on the auspicious occasion of Cheiraoba.
For the Hindu Meiteis, Cheiraoba symbolises the advent of a new year and is a festival celebrated by every household with great enthusiasm, observed a greeting message issued by Governor Gurbachan Jagat.
Pointing out that it is a festival where the old changes into new with the advent of Spring, the Governor said Cheiraoba rekindles new avenues of life for a better future.
The Governor further called upon all concerned to re-dedicate to work towards the goal of bringing peace, prosperity and progress in the State and every household while wishing that the New Year dispels the dark forces and bring in light to the State.
In his greeting message, Chief Minister O Ibobi called forth all concerned, with the advent of another New Year, to strive to work for unity and peaceful coexistence amongst all sections of the society in the State.
MPCC President Gaikhangam has also extended Cheiraoba greetings to the people of the State.
