Having recorded the statements of eight employees in connection with fraudulent withdrawal of GPF of employees working in various Government Departments, the House Committee which is probing the case has instructed the Account General and his subordinate staff to appear before the Committee on September 14.The House Committee headed by MLA Dr Nara Singh as the Chairman was set up to probe the allegations of withdrawal of huge amount of money meant as GPF of employees with or without the knowledge of the employees concerned after the matter was discussed after a call attention motion in this connection was raised by MLA Dr Nimaichand Luwang on th e floor of the Assembly on December 13 last year.
The statements of the eight employees of the Education Dept who have lodged complaints to the House Committee were recorded during a sitting presided over by chairman Dr M Nara Singh at the Committee room today morning.
The eight employees are Ass Teacher Chingnei them Kipgen of Ayang Primary School, Chandel district; Asst Teacher Tonglim Haokip of Mongjang LP School, Asst teacher L Meghachandra of Modern Primary School; Asst Teacher L Homendro of Lamlong Khullen Jr High School, Asst teacher N Boramani of Purum Tampak Jr High school, Asst Science Graduate teacher M Bimola of Leingangching Junior High School, Asst Science Graduate teacher Y Mema of Larong Jr High School and Asst Graduate teacher Ksh Kullahari of Purum Tampak Jr High School.
Commissioner (Edn), ZEO and DDOs concerned were also present at the time of recording the statements.
After recording the statements, instructions have been given to the Account General and his subordinate staff to appear before the Committee on September 14.The Committee also further notified to District SPs concerned to submit all the relevant documents of those against whom police cases have been registered in connection with the fraudulent withdrawal of GPF to the SP CID (Crime Branch).
