Two teenagers, who have been making hoax calls to the Fire Service for the last 3 months, gave themself in for their mischief to the Fire Service today who after being chastised roundly let them off.
The two, accompanied by their parents, presented themselves before the Fire Service today.
According to the Fire Service, the two teenagers have been making hoax calls to the hotline of the Fire Service, 101, from their mobile number 9862492639 for the last three months.
Sometimes the mischievous kids mimicked the accent of hill men while speaking in Meiteilon while at other times they pretended to be Meitei Pangals.
At other times they pretended to be girls.
Their calls ranged from threats to jeers and were at times lewd, said Fire Service men.
On August 26 alone they made 40 calls from the said mobile number.
After the matter was reported to the police, it came to light that the pranksters were from Sekta Makha Leikai and their identities emerged as Phibam Chittaranjan (15) and Wahengbam Yuremba (14).They were let off with a stern reprimand not to repeat their pranks.
