Industries and Commerce Minis- ter Y Erabot has stated that the decision the State Government to set up Industrial Growth Centre at Chingarel in Imphal East District is being reviewed.
In response to a question raised by Khurai A/C MLA Ng Bijoy during the question hour session of the Assembly today, the Minister assured the House eve- ry possible measures would be taken up to ensure the agricultural land are not affected at the time of setting up the proposed Industrial Growth Centre.
The Minister further informed the House that many sites for setting up the Industrial Growth Centre have been proposed but the topographical feature being the main condition none of the proposed sites is applicable.
To a question of MLA K Meghachandra, Power Mi-nister Phungzathang Tonsing said that the work order for setting up a 33/11 KV power sub-station at Yairi-pok at an estimated cost of Rs 616.95 lakhs under Accelerated Power Develop- ment Reform Programme has been issued in favour of Luknow-based M/s IVRCL Infrastructures and Project.
However, due to unbearable demand from some quarters, the firm has requested for cancelling the work order.
So necessary action would be taken up against the firm, the Minister assured the House.
To question of MLA Nandakumar on the alleged lack of co-ordination between the PWD, Transport Dept and PHED in connection with digging up roads for laying the pipelines of Imphal Sewerage Project, PHE Minister said there is no question of lack of co-ordination among these Depts.
He said that the permission of the authority concerned is being taken at the time of digging up the National Highway as well as from the PWD at the time of digging up the State Highway and other important roads.
Public notifica- tions are also being issued in time on connection with diversion of road for laying the pipeline, the Minister added.
Replying to a question of MLA O Joy, Works Minister K Ranjit pointed out that work on reconstruction of Leishang Hiden could not be proceeded due to enforcement of the election model code of conduct.
