A one day health camp cum sensitisation programme on swine flu was held at Wunghon village, Yaingangpokpi today.
The programme was jointly organised by Directorate of Field Publicity, Nagaland and Manipur region, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the State Health Services.
The Health camp was jointly conducted by doctors of 23 Assam Rifles, doctors and nurses of PHC Yaingangpokpi and doctors of Shija Hospitals.
Wunghon village chairman RS Ngaramsang, Pradhan of Tellou Chana-Seijang Gram Panchayat Soibam Sobita and social worker L Sotinkumar as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
People of around 15 villages falling under Ukhrul and Senapati districts were benefited from the medical camp where medicines were also distributed of cost to needy patients.
Dr Sachin Laishram of Shija Hospital explained about swine flu to the villagers together with its preventive measures.
Later prizes were distributed to winners of a baby competition held as a part of the camp.
The programme culminated with presentation of a play by artistes of Song and Drama Division.
