A joint meeting of community leaders of Moreh and representatives of private transport operators was held at Moreh Trade Centre Conference hall yesterday during which six resolutions related to the dispute over parking space for Tata Sumo, Maruti Van and Tata DI were adopted.
Among other resolutions, which would come into effect from February 6, the meeting decided to give options to the transport operators to park for four wheelers either the terminals of PWD, Moreh (W/N 8) or Veterinary Campus (W/N 6), formal application by the Sumo Association (old & new) to the All Community Leaders so as to find an internal settlement of the issue and prohibition of bandh calls by transport bodies.
It was also resolved that the community leaders shall make it a point to All Moreh Autorickshaw Owners and Drivers' Association to abide by the meeting resolutions and that the community leaders would approach department concerned not to approve parking permit to individual and group transport operators without prior knowledge of the community leaders.
Meanwhile, Moreh-Imphal Jeep and Tata Sumo Service Welfare Association and Moreh Social Workers' Youth Club have jointly appealed to both the State Government and the all community leaders to allow parking of the vehicles of the transport body at the old parking area till an alternative site has been
arranged.
Moreh dental camp: IGAR (S) Maj Gen CA Krishnan, who visited Moreh along with Commander 26 Sector Brig SK Bhanot, today inaugurated first ever dental camp organised by 31 Assam Rifles at the border town, said a PRO IGAR (S) release.
apart from formally opening the dental camp where more than 300 persons were provided treatment and medicines, the Major General also interacted with community leaders of Moreh assuring them full cooperation of the Assam Rifles in all their endeavours.
He further complimented them for maintaining peace and harmony in the border town and also commended the healthy interaction of the unit with social organisations as well as residents of Moreh, added the statement.
on the otherhand, a pipe band display was organised at Assam Rifles Nodal School, Mantripukhri by HQs IGAR (S) in commemoration of the 25th anniversary of raising of HQs 3 Corps.
