Police have dispersed womenfolk storming Minister and MLA residences as further course of people agitations against alleged July 23 fake encounter today.
Members of the JAC formed in connection with killing of Ch Sanjit in alleged fake encounter in association with womenfolk of Khurai Ahongei Leikai stormed the residence of the IFCD minister Y Erabot at Khurai Ahongei this afternoon.
Police tear gas and mob bombed to foil the womenfolk apart from baton charging the womenfolk who tried to storm the minister's residence from Porompat PDA complex near the JNIMS hostel complex side.
There erupted a brief confrontation between the women police personnel of Imphal east district armed with baton and womenfolk who picked sticks from nearby bamboo work-sheds.
To put the situation under control, police hurled mob bombs.
Women protestors picked the mob bombs before explosion and hurled towards the police again.
To ensure police control the crowd used tear gas.
When they picked up one woman and forced her to step into the police vehicle, three women followed her.
Police detained all four.
Another bid to storm the residence of MLA W Brajabidh at Lamshang after a meeting was held this afternoon was also foiled by the police.
A sit-in protest staged the gate of the MLA was foiled by the police, later.
Police also collected all the materials used in the protest but the womenfolk continued the protest after changing the site.
Police also remained closed vigil to them when they tried to burnt effigies of chief minister, his wife Landhoni and others.
Taking advantage of the absent of police for some moment, the womenfolk burnt the effigies.
Later, womenfolk expressed disappointment when they were prevented to lodge complaint with the local MLA regarding the demand of the people.
They also said that they wanted to put up some complaint with the local MLA with regard to the dead of a woman of the Assembly constituency on July 23 shooting incident.
