Imphal, October 14, 2009: "Minority control the good, honest, innocent.

Scoundrels control the people.

There are scoundrels among the politicians and civil organizations," a talker talking at the marathon meeting of the guardians held today at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen said expressing worried over the prevailing situation in the state.

The marathon and heated dialogue meeting of the guardians of the students after a long deliberation set deadline on October 21 on both the government and agitating students' bodies to allow re-opening schools and resume normal class.

Pouring his heartfelt emotion to the prevailing state of unrest and chaotic situation where any of the problems solved with long lasting policy, he lamented "We are control by the minority".

"If the agitators keep on agitating and the schools/colleges will remain shut until the chief minister resigns," then if he doesn't resign, is the boycott to continue till the end of his five tenure (Ibobi's five year is yet to go for two and half year), he asked.

The meeting also demanded a clear cut stand of the chief minister, O Ibobi Singh apart from seeking stands of the state legislatures on class boycott stir of the students' bodies.

Hundreds of guardians of all works of life particularly in teaching profession converged at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen, Palace Compound, Imphal to attend the meeting convened by the All Manipur Students' Guardians Organisation (AMSGO).

The meeting started at about 11 am and went on till 4.30 pm without conclusion.

The meeting was organized with an objective of finding a way to thrash out the issue pertaining to the likely lost of students' career owing to the indefinite class boycott call by three students' bodies.

The meeting continued without interruption with heated agreements which mostly criticized government for not enabling to tackle the matter even though students could not attend class for the last more than a month.

They also blamed agitating students bodies and Apunba Lup spearheading the people agitation on July 23 incident for dragging out students and use as tools for achieving their demands.

The no.1 resolution of the meeting stated that government should at any cost arrange for resumption of normal class of the schools on or before October 21. The resolution also appealed to the agitating students' bodies to relax the class boycott agitation and make way to resume normal class.

If the government and agitating bodies failed to hear to the request of the guardians, the resolution no 2 stated that they will first appraise the Governor to intervene into the matter.

And this too not affective, guardians will put up the matter to the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohon Singh for immediate intervention into the state matter and take up appropriate action considering for the future of the students and for the sake of worried guardians.

The meeting also constituted a 20 member working committee to translate the resolution passed by the meeting into works.

Talkers in the meeting strongly flayed government adamant attitudes in solving the prevailing situation arising out in the state arising out of exposure of the July 23 alleged fake encounter that claim two life and injure to five others.

At the same some guardians with emotion blamed the students' bodies and agitating Apunba Lup for dragging students from class room involved in the people agitation.

Advocate Khaidem Mani who also spoke at length at the meeting said it will not be good for all to continue in such situation further.

"We (as guardians) need appraise at least something to the government".

The question of which is important, right to life and right to education must be deliberately discuss on a comparative division.

Students' bodies are taking part in the agitation by boycotting class.

The stir had already completed one month.

There is the need of consideration why students had taken such a drastic decision.

In his observation, Mani said the unrestrained killing of people in "fake encounter" which have been witnessing in the state like a lawless land is behind the students' agitation.

He also cited an instant of protest against killing of an MBA student in alleged fake encounter at Derahdun by police which prompt action to the chief minister of the state had prevented further escalation of people uprising.

But in Manipur, people have been protesting against the alleged fake encounter at several occasions while government has never find out long lasting policy to solve the problems forever.

Government suppressed almost all the people agitations by using force.

In the latest agitation against the alleged July 23 fake encounter too, government apparently though that the agitation will die down after some bandh, blockade, rally and protest etc.

Government's wait and watch policy has compelled the students unable to remain seated in the reading room.

They were compelled to thing of which is important, right to life or right to education, Mani observed.

Another speaker in the meeting Ph Bheiyachandra lamented that people of the state are not getting "natural justice, human justice, legal justice".

If these three justices are happened to deliver to the people, frequent bandhs, blockades, public agitations may have not be witnessed.

Schools and colleges in the state particularly across the four valley districts remain suspended for the last more than a month since the launching of the infinite class boycott by the All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) from September 9 as a part of the support to the agitation against the July 23 Khwairamband Bazar shooting incident.

Later two other students bodies, Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF) and Kangleipak Students' Association (KSA) also joined the agitation.

Saying that the agitation launched by the students' bodies against the daily fake encounter killings and violation of right to life is warranted, students bodies observed that the agitation is not to show that the students do not want to learn but to right to life is more important than rights to education.

It is just to add strength and weight to the people's demand for justice and rights, the further observed.
