Imphal, October 14 2009:
AMSU, MSF and KSA will not retire or slow down from extending support to the agitation spearheading by the Apunba Lup.
Instead taken up steps to speed up the agitation, a joint statement of the three students bodies launching class boycott agitation expressed.
As a part of intensifying the stir, the joint statement asked they started keeping strict vigil with the functioning of the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BSEM) and Council of Secondary Education Manipur.
BSEM and Council should suspend all works stated taken up in connection with the preparation for Class-X, XI and XII examinations and to suspend seeking information related with enrolled students for the exams from schools.
All works should be suspended immediately and till state situation return to normalcy.
As autonomous bodies, board and council should beware of using them as instrument to suppress the agitations spearheading by the Apunba Lup.
Calling for submission of list of enrolled students for Class-X, XI and XII with other mandatory documents like mark sheets and others is part of government attempt to suppress the ongoing agitation, the statement alleged.
Considering the sentiment of the people, board and council should suspend all works related with the preparation for Class X, XI and XII exams, the statement call for while appealing teachers and other to extend co-operation to the ongoing agitations.
If the school authorities happened to furnish information call by board and council, AMSU, MSF and KSA will treated as standing against the people.
They are informing these in advance so as to avoid any untoward incident in future, the statement put down.
Responding to the appealed to review the class boycott stir from various circles, the joint statement asked to find the other means which would replace the stir and participate in the agitation, they suggest.
They will follow it.
Same like appealing to review the class boycott stir, resignation of chief minister, O Ibobi and befitting punishment to the police commandos involved in the July 23 shooting incident should also be demanded.
The statement also asked those seeking withdraw of class boycott stir which is important between right to life and right to education, if wanted to end class boycott stir, what kind of alternative agitation can replace, can any of them find a "methodology", can any body say when suspend class boycott stir, can life safety and right to life be guaranteed.
Without putting down what people are facing, trying to blame the three students' bodies for losing the state and eliminating human resource of the state and connecting the matter of war in Germany and Russia is unfortunate thing, the lengthy joint statement of the AMSU, MSF and KSA observed.
