Imphal, March 29 2010:
The Justice Agarwal Enquiry Commission investigating into the July 23 Khwairamband killing has sought a report from Imphal West Additional Superintendent of Police AK Jhaljit through the Government counsel.
In the latest hearing of the Commission held today at Hotel Imphal, Justice Agarwal asked the Government counsel to submit a report of the commandos detained on the day of the incident.
Even as the OC of Commando Bazar Unit has already submitted a report, the Commission sought another report from the Imphal West Addl SP considering his capacity of being the overall in-charge of Imphal West commandos.
Statements of Prof H Tomba (Surgery) and Assistant Prof Ksh Kala (Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgery) were also recorded today.
However, statement of Dr Ibomcha could not be recorded as he arrived late.
His statements would be recorded in the next hearing.
The two doctors of RIMS who gave their statements today were the ones who treated W Gitarani, P Lukhoi and L Keshorani after they sustained bullet injuries in the July 23 firing.
The Commission's next hearing is on April 25 .
The Commission further decided to send the photographs published by Tehelka magazine to the New Delhi based Central Forensic Science Laboratory to verify its authenticity.
This was necessitated as the forensic science laboratory located at Pangei has no photo division.
