Imphal, September 11, 2009:
MPP President Dr Nimaichand Luwang has blamed the Centre for the insurgency problems in the state.
The problems can not be solved through the use of military forces, he said.
He was speaking during the sit-in-protest launched by the party at its office here today against the Khwairamband incident.
He wondered how the insurgency problem of the state would be solved when security forces launch a massive manhunt on militants.
He demanded the Centre and State government to initiate steps to solve the problem through political dialogue.
He said that militants had used to kill civilians but they have stopped it now.
Lamentably, the government still continues to kill innocent people.
Urging both the militants and the government to stop killing people, he also appealed for the restoration of normalcy in the state.
The demonstration of the MPP was attended today by president and secretary of the party's youth front and various district level leaders of the MPP Youth Front.
