Imphal, November 05 2009: Senior Advocate Irom Lalitkumar Singh has been elected as the chairman of the Bar Council of Assam, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim.

A resident of Singjamei Chingamakha Irom Leikai, Lalitkumar is a former founder president of Manipur Legal Aid Organisation and he is the first member from the Bar Association of Manipur to hold such a prestigious post of chairman for the entire North East Bar Council.

The Manipur Legal Aid Organisation has congratulated Lalitkumar on being elected as the chairman of the Bar Council of the entire Northeast region.
