48 hours General Strike called by Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) in protest against Central Security Forces action restricting using 'Manipur' on 22nd May 2025
On May 20 2025, troops of Mahar Regiment of Indian Army on duty at one of the security check-posts along Imphal-Ukhrul at Gwaltabi in Imphal East before entering Ukhrul district jurisdiction forced to cover the word 'Manipur' from the signage of Manipur State Transport (MST) bus ferrying a media team. The bus sponsored by state DIPR was going to cover the opening function of the 5th Shirui Festival in Ukhrul district.
