Failure on the part of state law department to issue appointment order even though Guwahati High Court issued notification on June 9 in connection with promotion and posting of Judges, five important courts in the state are in defunct state.
The delay in the issue of the order not only caused loss a huge amount from the state exchequer but also faced difficulties to the litigation, observed former president of the All Manipur Bar Association, advocate Khaidem Mani in a briefing to the media today at AMBA office, Cheirap Court.
Mani said that these courts remaining in defunct state owing the delay in the issue of the order as family court, Manipur revenue tribunal/motor accident claim tribunal, Manipur, special court (NDPM), Manipur, First Tract Court, Mainpur East and Manipur West.
He said even though these courts are functioning under the Guwahati High Court, state law department is the appointing authority of its judges.
