Imphal, October 31 2009:
The CPI(M), Manipur State Council today expressed unhappy with the statement of its central committee member, Nurul Hoonda to the media which hurt to the goal of the revolutionary organizations and People Revolutionary Front (RPF).
The matter was deliberately discussed in a remark of the former MP and member of the party central committee, Nurun Hoonda made on the side line of concluding day of the 21st conference of the All India Kishan Sabha on October 29 last, today by a meeting of the CPI(M) secretariat.
The objective of the party is to hold talk between the insurgent operating in Manipur and government of India without any pre-condition and bring a solution politically.
So far, India government did not tried to bring an end to the insurgency problem of the state sincerely through dialogue.
Instead of trying to hold dialogue, the Centre is trying to suppress it by force imposing draconian Acts like the AFSPA and NSA.
CPI(M) in the state had and has been taking part in people protests.
At the latest, CPI(M) brought up the matter of July 23 alleged fake encounter incident in the house of the Parliament and staged protest demanding unconditional released of those agitators detained under NSA.
The party is still pressing the Central government to initiate peace talks with the insurgent groups without pre-condition sincerely and appropriate action to end "fake encounter" killing by the Central and state security forces in the state.
CPI(M) believed that there is no other way to end the conflict situation other than through dialogue.
To pave the path for peace talk, government should declare unilateral ceasefire with the insurgent group.
The party is still strongly pressing the centre in this regard, the statement of the party signed by Sharat Salam, CPI(M), Manipur State Committee expressed.
