Imphal, November 10 2009:
School van owners have decided to collect fees from students' upto September though they decided to exempt all fees for the other months in which the schools remained closed due to the class boycott agitation launched against the Khwairamband incident.
A van driver, who requests anonymity, told this reporter that the van drivers would collect fees from students till September in case classes are resumed normally.
Even if the period/month for rest of the closures of the schools are not collected, the drivers will collect fees for September.
In case any parents or guardian refused to pay the van fee for September, the particular child/ward should not be transported by the van owners while only those who pay the fees for the particular month will be transported to schools.
The anonymous driver said, the school van owners are another community that suffered the agitation.
As no class has been taken, they have no other work other dropping and picking children from school.
He also appealed the all concerned to feel their worries and extend help.
