Tamenglong, June 19 2009: Suspending their classes for the day, students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Tamenglong took out a mass rally starting from the school campus to the official bungalow of DC today decrying the apathy of the teachers.

The agitated students also submitted a memorandum to the DC Jacintha Lazarus, who is also the chairperson of the Vidyalaya Samiti.

Signed by five students on behalf of the rest of the students, the 10-point memorandum alleged that the teachers were not interested in imparting education to the students but leisured away their time waiting for the month to end so as to enjoy their salary.

It also alleged that the catering in-charge of the school even threaten to poison the students.

Witnessing day observed: One of the key churches in Tamenglong Town Emmanuel Baptist Church (EBC) today observed Witnessing Day, 2009 under the theme of 'Come and Dine' at its church complex.

The observance was an invitation of love to a feast of comfort and multifold blessings, a simple solution to all problems of life and a quench for all spiritual quests, according to Director of Vacation Bible School, EBC Chingkhiulung Gonmei.
