Senior Advocate Tayenjam Nandakumar Singh has been appointed as Judge of Guwahati High Court, a highly placed source said.
Acting Chief Justice of the same court D Biwas will administer oath of office on Nandakumar at the premises of the Principal seat of guwahati High Court on November 25 at 10 am, the source added.
Nandakumar is the second person to he appointed as judge of Guwahati High Court after M Binoykumar Singh during the past one month.
Born in a lawyer's family in 1954, Nandakumar is the eldest son of T Bhubon Singh, senior advocate and ex-State Advocate General.
After enrolling himself as an advocate in 1978 he began practising before the Guwahati High Court and subordinate courts.
Nandakumar is the youngest advocate ever designated as senior advocate in the history of Guwahati High Court on January 28 1994.He was the counsel for Manipur University for six years and currently is the counsel for Central Agricultural University.
He successfully- participated in important enquiry commissions as counsel either for the ministry of Home Affairs as State Police Department.
Also a former State Advocate General on two occasions, Nandakumar is also a senior member of the Supreme Court Bar Association.
