Imphal, November 23:
Following complaints from various quarters that some contractors and suppliers were involved in corrupt practices while supplying items to the ITI store located at Lamphel, cadres of the proscribed outfit KCP today closed down the ITI store to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter.
Talking to media-persons at somewhere in Imphal today, Action Committee Star Force (ACSF) KCP commander SM informed that a team of the KCP Star Force had partially inspected the ITI store today following a complaint to the party that some of the suppliers and contractors were supplying sub-standard items and some even supplying less than what was ordered from them.
The commander further stated that all the items deposited at the store will be further examined and if any malpractices are discovered in the process.
All suppliers and contractors involved in the racket will be sternly dealt with, he warned.
He also stated that the store has been closed down from today to help its cadres in investigating the matter more efficiently.
Stating that the drive undertaken by the KCP at the ITI store is the first step taken by the outfit in its endeavour to cleanse the corrupt departments of the State, commander SM urged the public to support and extend full cooperation to its cadres and help in cleaning the Government Departments which have become some sort of an instrument for making quick money.
He also appealed to the general public to contact ACSF if they come across any form of corrupt practices in any of the depts.
