Mr Imphal West title for Arnold

Imphal, April 23: Dominant figure in the State body building circle for the past many years M Shaolin of YBB, Kyamgei has been upstaged by K Arnold of IK Gym who flexed his way to clinch the top title in the Senior division of the 7th Mr Imphal West body building contest 2004 conducted at GM hall, Imphal today.

In the six men competition of the group, T Joychandra of TBBC, Takyel secured third position with Ng Surchandra of YBB Gym, Y Arunkumar of JBC, Singjamei and Ng Bikramjit of YBB, Pishum have to settle for fourth, fifth and sixth position respectively.

Kh Dineshor of Sangai Gym outclassed 19 other competitors to claim the top honour in sub-junior category where I Ranjit of YBB Gym and A Chandrakumar of Royal Gym had to be content with second and third place respectively.

Th David (ELBBTC), Kh Tomba (YBB Gym) and Y Chingfu Meetei (Kanglei Gym) were placed fourth, fifth and sixth in the same category.

In junior section where 11 participants took part, W Kiran of JBC, Singjamei emerged triumphant with L Irabanta of YBB and G Rajesh of Patriot secured second and third positions.

O Deven of YBB Gym topped the master category followed by T Ibohal (MPCC), P Kuki (Manipur Secretariat) and Ch Khelen (YBB) in second, third and fourth places.

Cash prizes of Rs 1000, 600 and 400 with trophies/gifts to the top three position winners in each category and Rs 200 from 4th to 6th place finishers were donated by N Nabikishwor (Padmashree) of Tera Khamnam Leirak, I Brajanihari Singh of Khagempalli Huidrom Leikai, N Priyokumar Singh of Pishum Nongthombam Leikai and president of Imphal West District Body Building Association (IWDBBA) Th Kesho singh.

The competition was organized by IWDBBA under the guidance of All Manipur Body Building Association.

Meanwhile, Manipur's Barun Yumnam and Shamurailatpam Shyam Sharma representing CRPF and Indian Railways respectively won the top title in the 70 kg and above 90 kg categories at the 43rd Senior National Body Building Championship held at Jallandhar in Punjab on March 27 and 28, said All Manipur Body Building Association in a press release today.

A Momotomba of the CRPF and Th Romi of Services, who are also from Manipur secured second and fourth positions in 75 kg and 60 kg class respectively in the championship, added the Association.
