All the application forms for Mobile Phone connections in Churachandpur available at the Telephone Exchange, Ccpur were finished on the first day yesterday itself as the people of Lamka responded overwhelmingly to the news.
Hundreds of applicants were seen making long queues at the SBI and UBI branches of Churachandpur yesterday as they raced to prepare bank drafts for submission along with the application form.
The BSNL has said that a total of 400 connections will be available in the first phase for Churachandpur but when will it be activated is not yet known.
In the meanwhile, cyber cafes and internet users of Lamka complained bitterly that they have suffered a lot in the last 15 days due to the poor condition of the internet line.
The line goes on and off all the time gravely affecting business and inconveniencing the consumers.
The working of all newspapers were also disrupted as they could not get news from the internet and other outside sources.
The telephone STD line which have been non functional since yesterday was also restored only in the evening today.
