Imphal, April 22:
The need for analysing, understanding and implementing the principles of Marx and Lenin in the present context of revolutionary movement in the State has been emphatically stressed by comrades on the occasion of observing the birth anniversary of VI Lenin at Irabot Bhavan here today.
Organised by the Agitation and Propaganda Department, Manipur State Council (MSC)CPI, the observance function of the 138th birth anniversary of VI Lenin was attended by Chairman of MSC/CPI Control Commission Moirangthem Ibohal Singh, State Secretary of MSC/CPI L Iboyaima and State Secretary of CPI (M), Manipur Sarat Salam as presidium members.
Speaking at the occasion, Moirangthem Ibohal enlightened the gathering on the principles of Marx and Lenin and said that revolution is to bring about changes in the system in the greater interest of the public and not in the interest of a few vested interested individuals.
He further said that writing and chronicling of human history should be based on socialism.
The true human history would emerge only when everyone believes in the principle of socialism and establishment of a classless society.
Sarat Salam observed that the it high time for the parties committed to Marxism and Leninism to raise questions on the State Government and those who are purportedly working for a revolutionary movement in the State and discuss how the principles of Marxism and Leninism could be incorporated towards bringing about a real revolution.
Assistant Secretary of MSC/CPI L Sotinkumar, former State Secretary of MSC/CPI B Sharma and Secretary of CPI (M), Manipur Ksh Shanta were also among others who spoke on the lives and works of Lenin and Marx at the occasion.
