To formalise campaign strategies for the ensuing Lok Sabha polls, State unit NCP president Radhabinod Koijam will rush to meet the party's Central leaders at New Delhi on Sunday.
NCP has fielded LB Sona as its candidate for the Outer Manipur Parliamentary constituency that covers the five hill districts of Senapati, Ukhrul, Chandel, Tamenglong and Churachandpur and parts of Thoubal district.
The National party, which has four Legislatures in the 60-member Assembly, will support the N Mohendra Singh, the candidate of MPP for Inner Manipur seat.
ational People' Party (NPP) and Manipur State Congress Party (MSCP) have also declared to support NCP and MPP candidates.
"Our State unit president (Radhabinod Koijam) will leave for New Delhi to formalize the four-party poll campaign and other matters by holding discussions with the Central party leaders.
After his arrival we will also decide to a fix an auspicious date to roll out a full fledged campaign for LB Sona," said State unit NCP general secretary K Sharatkumar.
"We have also constituted a manifesto draft committee for our party to for the ensuing elections.
Safeguarding Manipur's territorial integrity will be put in the top chart of the proposed manifesto", he said.
The ruling Congress, which has already announced to field candidates for both seats, is yet to declare its candidates.
The CPI has begun local level campaign for its candidate M Nara Singh for the Inner Manipur seat so do the BJP for its candidate W Nipamacha Singh for the same constituency.
Meanwhile the State Election Department has taken up necessary measures to ensure all 2193 polling stations in the state are having telecommunication connectivity through wireless, cell phones, telephone and wireless during the ensuing polls.
The Outer Manipu r Parliamentary Constituency will go to the polls on April 16, while the electorates of Inner Manipur Parliamentary seat will vote on April 22.
