National seminar concludes

A two day national seminar on 'Challenges and possibilities in Manipur in the 21st Century: Socio-economic and Political Aspects' organised by Department of Political Science, Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, regional Campus, Manipur concluded today at Hotel Imphal.
The seminar began with Additional Chief Secretary (elections/RD&PR) PC Lawmkunga as the chief guest and National Fellow Indian Institute of Advanced Studies, Shimla Prof Gangmumei Kamei presenting the key-note address.
The opening session also had Prof Amar Yumnam, Department of Economics (MU) speaking on the topic 'Socio-economic aspect of Manipur: Tangible and Intangible'; Associate Professor, Department of African Studies (Delhi University) Dr AS Yaruingam on 'Degrading moral values and its impact on the youths'; and Associate Professor, CSSS/SSS (JNU, New Delhi) Dr Bimol Akoijam on 'Towards a resurgent Manipur: Problems and Possibilities', as the resource persons.
Under the chairmanship of former Professor, Department of Political Science (MU) Prof Horam the second day was held wherein Ravi Ranjan (Zakir Hussain College, DU), Ringkahao Horam (Modern College) and Dr N Somorendro Singh (Manipur College) spoke on diverse topics in the first session.
The second and third session of the seminar's concluding day was respectively held with Prof Ksh Bimola (MU) and Prof (Retd) Lal Dena (MU) as the chairperson.
Dr Priyadarshini M Gangte (Damdei College) and Dr N Bijen Meetei (Assam University) were the resource persons of the penultimate session whereas Dr KP Guite (RK sanatombi College of Education) and Dr Benzamin (United College/Chandel) addressed the gathering as resource persons rounded off the seminar.
