Appeal for safe release

Meira Paibis and the JAC constituted in connection with the disappearance of Alice Kamei of Chingphu Kabui Khun and Khaidem Sanahanbi of Nachou staged a sit-in-protest today at Ishok Chingphu Terapokpi demanding safe release of the two girls.
Alice Kamei, reading in class IX at Grace Reach English Academy and Khaidem Sanahanbi reading in class X at the same school located at Hiyanglam, Thoubal district went missing but were later reported that were in a camp of a UG group.
Both Alice and Sanahanbi were staying together in the school hostel.
Speaking to media persons by the sideline of the protest demonstration, Alice's mother Sundari said that her daughter and Sanahanbi left the hostel at about 10.30 am of March 10 without giving any information to the school authority.
Next day when Sundari was returning home from the school after meeting the school authority, an unidentified person called her through mobile phone and informed that both Alice and Sanahanbi were with them.
The incoming mobile number was immediately passed on to the school authority so as to confirm the whereabouts of the two girls.
Later in the evening, the school authority conveyed that the two girls were in the custody of RPF/PLA.
Apart from appealing to those who identified themselves as RPF/PLA activists to hand over Alice and Sanahanbi, the worried parents were also allowed to talk with the two girls over phone.
Members of the JAC and Meira Paibis who took part in the protest demonstration reiterated their appeal to hand over the two young girls to their respective parents on humanitarian ground.
The JAC also appealed to student organisations of the State to help them in securing safe release of the two students.
