Imphal, October 17 2009:
Over 600 students of five educational institutions of Andro areas took out a rally from Andro Bazar upto Ngariyan Forest Office demanding immediate resumption of educational activities.
The slogan-shouting protestors held the SPF Government responsible for the prolonged closure of educational institutions and drew immediate attention of the Chief Minister to bring about a meaningful solution so as to enable the students return to their classrooms.
Students who participated at the protest rally organised by the Eastern Schedule Caste Students' Union were drawn from Unified Brothers English School, Brighter Public School, TAM Mission School, St Joseph School and TAM HS.
The protestors also held placards that demanded immediate resumption of normal class and resignation of Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh with the contention that career of the students should be the priority rather than the post of Chief Ministership.
