Imphal, October 17 2009:
A combined force of Thoubal police commandos and troops of Assam Rifles this afternoon ransacked a house of panchayat secretary at Nongmaikhong Mayai Leikai under Waikhong Police Station in Thoubal district.
The combined force has also been alleged of taking away some costly belongings of the house.
The house belongs to one Salam Sanayaima (70) said information gathered from the spot by our reporter.
Security forces intruded into the house when there was none other then Ashangbi, wife of Sanayaima when the incident occurred.
Security forces kept confined Ashangbi inside the house with closing both the front and rear door threatening her not to move out of the house and conducted search operation to each and every room of the house.
They, by asking where the guns conceal, conducted search by dispersing belongings of the house.
Even though Ashangbi said of not giving shelter and not concealing weapons in the house, they security forces continued ransacking the belongings.
The combined force charged conducted the search operation into the house stating that the son of Sanayaima, Gynenjit is an underground.
They also alleged that the belongings of the house were bought by the undergrounds.
While saying that the number beds in the house is more than the members of the family, the security forces also charged of keeping extra beds for staying undergrounds.
The security force then turned toward Sanayaima with a strong charge of he having nexus with the underground.
There also erupted a heated argument between the security force and Sanayaima who arrived at his house later.
Later, security force produced a boy of around 15 year of age with face covered with cloth and said the family members are telling lie.
They claimed that the boy used to take shelter in the house as underground for the last around one year.
He even stayed in the house the previous night, the security force charged.
Later, the combined force left the house after collecting pension book and I-card of late Salam Iboyaima who was served in the 11 battalion of CRPF and died in an encounter with militants at Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir on Agust 15, 1993 .
Security forces have also taken away two batteries, two telephones used by the labourers repairing roads, spare parts of WLL telephone, one CD player and an embroidery machine, family claimed.
When the family demanded for seizer memo, they alleged that the materials were used by the undergrounds.
The incident was strongly condemned by the Nongmaikhong Awang Social Reformation Association and Nongmaikhong Meira Paibi Chaokhat Tourang Lup and demanded return of the seized items.
