Keihao villagers celebrate Mangkhap Phanit
MLA Yamthong assures early repairment of Keihao Bridge

Mangkhap Phanit Festival, the harvesting festival of the Nagas, which is celebrated mainly to evoke the blessing of Almighty for bearing more fruit from the seeds sown and to regain the strength and energy of the worn out farmers was celebrated at Keihao village ground in Senapati district today.
Speaking on the occasionas as Chief Guest, MLA of Saikul A/C Yamthong Haokip assured the villagers of Keihao village under Senapati District that Keihao Bridge constructed over the Imphal River, which serves as one of the most important routes for the people of the village, would be repaired very soon.
An amount of Rs 3 lakhs have been sanctioned under the 13th Finance commission for the purpose, he informed the gathering.

He further informed that apart from the repairing of the bridge, various other development programmes would also be taken up in the village.
For successful implementation of these programmes all the people of the villages should join hands and come together, the MLA exhorted.
Before the commencement of the function, MLA Yamthong Haokip was given a traditional welcome by the villagers by carrying him on a wooden carrier upto the ground of the function area from a nearby house.
Traditional songs and dances were performed on the occasion.
Social worker, Th Ranjit Kumar was also present during the function as Guest of Honour.
