Imphal, December 02 2008:
Three barracks of the 12 AR located at Nambisha village of Ukhrul district were destroyed in an attack launched by cadres of MPA 241 Bn at about 10.35 pm of November 27, claimed the proscribed UNLF in a statement issued by its Senior Publicity Officer Ksh Yoiheiba.
Quoting reports collected later from the area, the outfit claimed that the Assam Rifles suffered heavy casualty as the intense attack which used rockets and sophisticated weapons ravaged the barracks.
Counting this attack, it was the second time the MPA attacked the Nambisha AR camp during the current year, Yoiheiba said while recalling of the attack launched in the intervening night of January 22 and 23 this year.
Alleging that Assam Rifles have been taking recourse to basest covert means in their effort to suppress the liberation movement of Manipur, the outfit accused Assam Rifles of arresting and killing innocent people with the false charges of being UG cadres while also vitiating the relationship between the people of hills and valley.
It alleged that the AR have been patronising some traitors turning them into their (AR) stooges only to perpetrate various anti-social activities in the name of insurgent groups with the ulterior motive to separate people from the insurgents.
Nonetheless, the people are well aware of all the alleged diabolic schemes of the security forces, it asserted while pledging that it will show with deeds that it is impossible to suppress the liberation movement.
