Terming the report published in today's daily edition of Ireibak Newspaper regarding the number of hyper sensitive polling stations of Andro Assembly Constituencies being downgraded to normal polling stations and deployment of unarmed Village Defence Force (VDF) volunteers during the 2nd phase of Parliamentary Election held on April 22 last as incorrect and misleading, the Director General of Police, Manipur, Imphal, Y Joykumar in a press statement clarified that not all the polling stations of Andro A/C was classified as hyper sensitive and also detailed that 1 sec of 193 BSF Bn was deployed at 7/9, 7/13, 7/14, 7/15, 2 secs of 6th IRB at 7/30, 1 sec of 115 BSF Bn at 7/31, 2 secs of 115 BSF Bn at 7/32 and 7/34 and 1 sec of 115 BSF Bn at 7/36 .
He said that at 7/33 and 7/34 polling stations 14 unarmed VDF personnel were deployed as the location is next to the coy post of 115 BSF Bn which was also alerted to provide security coverage as and when required on the day of polling.
He further said that similar allegations have also been brought out in today's issue of Paojel Newspaper.
Y Joykumar regretted the allegations saying that the news published in the above mentioned newspapers are misleading news items without verifying the facts.
