AIMOLS WHO could not performed prayers independently in their owned dialect when it was under the Komrem Baptists Church now able to the do it in their owned dialect Manipur Baptists Church (MBC), with the affiliation of the Aimol Baptists Association.
This was disclosed by president of the Aimol Baptists Church Association (ABCA), LN Shopa who spoke at the function held to mark the recognition of the ABCA by MBC today at Aimol Ngairong Baptists Church.
In the function held with the theme "The lord is my light and my salvation" he said when they are under the KBC, they could not independently offered the prayer with aimol dialect as the leaders of the KBCA did not given the permission.
With the long untried efforts of the leaders of the ABCA, the association finally able to get the affiliation, he said adding that many hardships had
faced.
"Today, with the tireless effort of the ABCA, aimol could achieved the long cherish dream.
With joy tears ran down on their eyes to many people of the tribe," he added.
Participating in the function, Rajya Sabha MP, Rishang Keishing said Christ is the beginning and the last also.
Living together leaving behind the differences among the different communities and tribes is the only way of true worship to the lord.
To hate among the different communities is against the ideology of those who believe Christ.
Giving hindrance in the effort to develop one's own culture is a not the true way, he added.
President of the Aimol Tribal Union, Manipur, ATUM, B Athoi said the day is the day of standing united among the aimol people.
To witness this day many leaders of the tribe sacrificed even their life and valuable times.
Aimol people should not forget their services.
Kom Library Association president recalling the recognition of the aimol tribe by the government of India in 1956 said the aimol has its owned folklore since from 780 AD.
It will be wrong to interfere in the effort to develop its own dialect by the aimol tribe.
Former president of the MBC Rev SH Alani unfurled the flag of the function and general secretary, Rev S Vumthang unveiled curtail of the memorial stone to mark the day.
