THE STATE government in a press statement announced some changes in the traffic regulations and traffic diversion points on account of the full dressed rehearsal and the main function of the Republic Day celebration on January 23 and 26.According the new rules, no vehicle except that of the VIPs and the invitees having valid car passes issued by the State Home Department, Manipur shall be allowed to ply towards north of Singh & Co.
Moirangkhom on NH-39, Keishampat to Khwai-Bazar, Maharani Bridge, Dukanthong, Babuthong and Khoyathong, Khoyathong to North AOC and Sanjenthong to Western Gate of Kangla and Keishampat Bridge on January 23 and 26 respectively till the functions are over.
Regarding the traffic diversions, the press statement said that all vehicles coming from Singjamei side along NH 39 will be diverted from Singjamei Bridge and New Thombuthong Bridge towards Kongba side.
Vehicles coming from Mayang Imphal along Mayai Lambi will be diverted from Keishampat Junction towards former Krishnadas Oil Pump.
All vehicles coming from Tidim Road will be diverted from Kwakeithel Bazar towards Tera Bazar and come back via Watham Leirak for pick and drop of passengers.
Vehicles coming from New Cachhar Road will be parked at Sagolband Moirang Leirak parking and trucks will be diverted from Tera Bazar.
Vehicles from Kangchup side may be parked at the Northern side of Uripok beyond the flyover.
Vehicles coming from Senapati will be diverted from Cingmeirong Khongnang Ani Karak while, vehicles coming from Ukhrul/Tinsid road will be diverted from Minuthong towards Hatta and Palace Compound.
All four wheeler and two wheelers carrying passengers to witness the main functions will park at Lairembi Lampak near Keishampat Junction.
