KSO Chandel inspects schools

A team of Kuki Students' Organization ( KSO ) Chandel District has inspected schools located under Tengnoupal Sub - Division in Chandel District on June 5. The inspection team which was flagged off by S.Tongpao Mate, Executive Member (CAF & PD, Art and Culture) ADC Chandel visited Government High Schools, Primary Schools and Government Aided Schools located in the Sub-Division.
While visiting Aimol Khullen Primary School, the inspection team found that the school was running smoothly with a total strength of 97 students by 7 teachers under Autonomous District Council Chandel.
The team also inspected the ongoing construction works of Kastruba Gandhi Vidyalaya, a residential school for girls at Aimol Khullen Village and the found the construction work on the school building and the dormitory cum kitchen completed.
As of now, the Vidyalaya is being run from a rented house of one Ch.
Thangkholian Aimol and the students are attached to Aimol Khullen Primary School.
The inspection team also visited Aimol Tampak Aided Primary School, Chingnunghut Government High School, Senam Primary School.
Speaking to media persons on the sidelines of the inspection, Jamkho-on Zou, Secretary Information & Publicity, KSO Chandel District said that lack infrastructures like insufficient class rooms, no proper school fencing, no Kitchen for Mid Day Meal, absence of Staff Quarters as well as lack of teaching staff to teach the Major Indian Language (MIL) in High School were observed during the inspection.
The student leader questioned how quality education can be brought about without providing the necessary infrastructures.
Quality education cannot be achieved by merely appointing more teachers.
Rather, the government should also emphasis on providing necessary infrastructures in the schools, he added.
