Noted social activist Panti Gonmei attacked by gunmen

Noted social activist Panti Gonmei was attacked by gunmen at her house in Imphal in the wee hours today.
Reports said unidentified gunmen fired at her house at Longol Tarung in Imphal West district at around 3 am.
No one was hurt in the incident, reports NNN.
Panti Gonmei is a noted social activist campaigning fervently against violence on women and child trafficking.
She has also initiated several protest movements against rape incidents in Manipur.
Meanwhile, a hand grenade was found planted at a shop in Imphal West district by suspected militants at 8 am today.
Reports said the grenade was found planted near a shop dealing poutry feed at Uripok Gopalji Leirak under Imphal police station.
The shop belongs to one G Birjit, s/o late Brajabidhu of Gopalji Leirak.
A bomb squad retrieved the explosive at 8 am.
