Women vendors of three market sheds in Khwairamband Bazar have announced their decision of launching various intense agitations if the Government of Manipur does not ensure availability of essential commodities to the people at controlled rate within 15 days.
Over the same demand, women vendors suspended their daily activities for the day and staged Wakat Meepham in their respective market sheds today.
Later during the day, a protest march was taken out.
The protest demonstration was jointly organised by Khwairamband Nupi Keithel Semgat Sagatpa Lup and Khwairamband Nupi Keithel Sinpham Amadi Saktam Kanba Lup.
Speaking at the occasion, secretary of Khwairamband Nupi Keithel Samget Sagatpa Lup Th Rani Devi came out strongly against the failure of the Govt to control the price of essential commodities in the State and announced that a series of intense agitation would be launched if the Government does not take up necessary remedial measures in this regard within 15 days from today.
