Medical check up to the children of 15 villages in Chandel district covered by government's mid-day meal programme was conducted at Molphei village during a medical camp organized by the Discover Manipur under the sponsorship of the state education department yesterday.
The medical camp was organized as a part of the medical check to children availing benefits of mid-day meal programmes across the nine districts of the state.
More than 111 students and villagers all age range availed the benefits of the medical camp which medicines were provided free of cost.
Doctor, Th Goutam taking part in the medical camp observed children mostly suffering from skin disease, eye infection and dysentery while older people by stomach problem and back paint.
On the other hand, Kana Areas Level Farmers' Co-operative Society organized a discussion session held at Molphei.
The session was attended by the dean of college of agriculture, Central Agricultural University, professor N Iboton, programme controller of Discover Manipur, LC Ruhinikumar, general secretary of MAPI Council, N Bimol, chief of the Molphei village Nehthang Haokip and chiefs of other neighbouring villages.
Speaking on the occasion, professor, N Iboton assured to extend assistant to the villagers of the area if they choose to cultivate any kinds of plant that will benefited them.
