Imphal, June 19 2009: Khumukcham Somen, a student who was reported to be missing from his school campus at Kamuching Thiamdawi in Sadar Hills of Senapati district was found lost on his way at Yairipok Top area.

Studying in class VII at EM Standard High School, Kamuching Thiamdawi, Khumukcham Somen Singh (13) son of Thoiba of Nongpok Keithelmanbi did not return home after going out from the school campus at around 8 am of June 15.

Apart from school authority reporting the matter to the Yairipok Police Station, it had also been published in newspapers.

In connection with the missing of Somen, some vested interested parties spread false rumour to denigrate the prestige of the school, said its headmaster Lala Vaiphei.

The school authority had not given leave to Somen on that day.

Still then the school authority made every possible efforts to trace him after his parents informed that Somen did not return home, the headmaster said, while decrying the attempt made by some people to set the school building on fire while holding the school authority responsible for the missing of Somen.

However, the misunderstanding has been resolved after a joint meeting today.

Somen who lost his way was reportedly found loitering around at Yairipok Top area at around 8 am today .

One of his relative who came across him informed the school authority who picked him up.

Afterward Somen was handed over to his parents in the present of the post commander of 6 IRB.

Somen said that after coming out from the school, he lost his senses and could not remember anything what he did all these days till he was found by his relative today.

Students of the school had been staged a Wakat Meepham in the school campus in connection with missing of Somen.
