People of this country have been facing the consequences of the indecent natures of the politician.
Such politician makes democracy indecent and crude.
And in order to check such indecent nature of the politicians and bureaucrats, the RTI Act 2005 was imposed by the government.
The above statement was kept by advocate Chongtham Narendra in a one-day workshop programme on RTI held at Nungourok in Chandel district today.
The workshop programme was organized by DIPR and was held at the office of Rural Education Action Exchange of Manipur (REACH-M) at Nungourok.
DC, Chandel Divesh Deval graced the workshop as chief guest.
Secretary, REACH-M, M Moses was the president of the programme.
Retired official, Indian Information Seri=vice, L Shyamjai and Faculty, State Academy of Training, Advocate Chongtham Narendra participated the workshop as resource persons.
In his speech, Narendra said that information is the most powerful tool in democracy.
The RTI Act was imposed in order to maintain the transparency of the service rendered by the government officials.
Everyone should take the advantage of this act.
In his speech of chief guest, Divesh Deval said that people now will be able to know information on various aspects from the government through this act.
President of the programme, Moses said that no government will give answer without asking them questions.
And this act gives the people to ask questions to the government and demand for appropriate answer.
"Only when we know our rights and duties, we will be able to get democracy in its fullest," he added.
