The People's Democratic Alliance (PDA) has geared up to impose the proposed 24-hour hill districts bandh on November 27 by urging all its units to be prepared for the day.
The bandh has been called by the PDA, a political party based in Manipur, in protest against the alleged lackadaisical attitude of the state government of Manipur.
The bandh begins from the midnight of November 26.All the individuals, civil societies, NGOs, political or non-political parties are requested to extend their cooperation for the success of the bandh by the People's Democratic Alliance.
They also stated that all the PDA cadres and frontal organizations, PDA Youth Front, PDA Women Front, PDA Students Front, PDA Peasants' Front and all districts level PDA units shall carry out the said bandh launched by PDA towards fulfilling demands for non-deployment of IRB, VDA in the hill districts, Rules for reservation in posts and services, implementation of National Tribal Policy, 2006, amendment of V.A.Act, 1956 and draft of separate Laws and Legislation for the five hill districts.
All the government and non-government institutions, academic institutions, market, business activities, heavy and light vehicles and different manners of traveling along the NH-39, NH-53 (A) i.e.Old Cachar Road, NH-53 New Cachar Road, Imphal-Tiddim Road, NH-150 touching Churachandpur, Imphal-Ukhrul Road, Imphal-Chandel, Ukhrul-Nagaland Road and Imphal-Moreh Road and others shall be included during the bandh.
Water supply, medical and media activities shall be exempted from the purview of the bandh.
They further said that any person who violates the strict rules of this bandh shall bear responsibility of any untoward consequences.
