The Manipur People's Party (MPP), in a meeting of its central committee held today, has decided to elect a new president on February 24 .
The tenure of the present adhoc president Dr Nimaichand Luwang ends in June this year.
The central committee decided to conduct elections and elect a new president before the expiry of the incumbent president.
The meeting president by Dr Nimaichand Luwang was attended by former president Dr L Chandramani, advisor O Joy, Th Chaoba and other office bearers.
For the party's presidential election, ex-MLA L Jatra has been appointed returning officer.
Party office bearers, district presidents, delegates, Kendra presidents, Kendra committee members and delegates constitute the electoral college for the presidential election.
