Imphal, January 24 2010:
E Suraj who was elected in the recently held by-election to the Yaiskul Assembly constituency, today, sought the cooperation of the people in taking up developmental works in the constituency.
He was speaking at a function organised in his honour.
In the felicitation function held at Wangkhei Keithel Ashangbi Community Hall, organised by the Yaiskul Block Committee, E Suraj also announced that a power sub-station will be erected at Sangaipat as a first step of his developmental work so as to improve the power supply condition in the area.
He will give priority to infrastructure developmental works in his constituency and then will give take up human resources development.
He also promised to improve the water supply system in the constituency, improve power supply condition in consultation with the authority of the power department.
On the party activities, Suraj said that he will take up reorganization of Block Congress right from the grass root level to strengthen the party in consultation with the party workers.
Mention may be made that Elangbam Suraj was elected in the bye-election held on December 19 last year to fill up the vacant seat in the state Assembly after the demise of his father E Kunjeshwor.
The felicitation function of the MLA was presided over by president of the Wangkhei Assembly constituency W Ibotombi.
President of the Mahila Block Congress, Keinatombi, Councilor of ward no.20, Tombimacha and former Chairman of the Imphal Municipal Council, Ph Guneshwor also attended as Guests of Honour.
