KSO demands re-engagement of contractual teachers

Pointing out that schools in the hill districts are facing acute shortage of teachers since employment of the teachers I different categories under Education (S) Department, Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO) has demanded re-engagement of contractual teachers to save the academic career of the students.
In a memorandum submitted to the Education Minister, Vice President of KSO Mangcha Baite observed that as classes have resumed in the schools after vacation, the students studying in schools in the hill districts are bound to suffer due to acute shortage of teachers.
Mangcha maintained that there is a shortage of 2152 teachers in the hill districts at present as per the assessment made by several organizations.
