Imphal, November 14 2009:
State Consumers Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and Co-operation Minister, Y Erabot today inaugurated the 65th All India Co-operative Week organized by the Manipur Co-operative Union in collaboration with the District Co-operative office, Imphal west under the aegis of the National Co-operative Union of India.
Erabot who graced the function as chief guest expressed concern over the lack of habit of repayment of loan by loanees in Manipur.
Government as well as people is all insincere.
People have no habit of repayment of loan availed from the banks.
They thought that loans once availed need not to repay.
This resulted in the dying of the co-operative banks even though government invest huge amount to these banks for the upliftment of the society.
People who become rich by doing contract works came out and fight election to represent people in running government and some individuals whose forefathers fight election also come out without considering his qualification taking its as their inherit seats.
It would not be possible to keep a good government in such condition.
In Manipur only election is won with money and muscle powers.
Candidates sent out their hired people and used bombs and guns at the time of elections.
If a member of a house is underground activist, the family becomes rich.
They can lead a life with respect.
At the initial stage undergrounds are seem to be going in the true path of revolutionaries.
But today, they seem going in other directions, Erabot went on to say.
Undergrounds are taking contract works by snatching work orders from other while ministers and MLA are trying to buy land in Imphal areas by amassing wealth.
Police also abduct people from home and killed in encounter.
They will not let free those persons found huge amount of money in their pockets and killed them saying that they were underground and die in encounter.
They have no intention of serving people, Y Erabot said.
