Chairman of Manipur Development Corporation (MANIDCO) and MLA of Kumbi A/C, N Mangi today announced that the bridge presently under construction over the Khuga river at Kumbi bazar will be completed in coming April.
He announced this while touring different areas of Kumbi A/C along with a team of newsmen to inspect the various development works being taken up at present.
The MLA went and inspected the work of digging canal at Kumbi Setupur meant for making drinking water available to the local people there.
Later he went to Kumbi bazar and inspected the progress of the construction of the bridge over Kumbi river.
After the inspection tour at various places in the constituency, the chairman of MANIDCO told the newsmen that there is much progress in the construction of the Kumbi bridge.
The construction of the bridge is being taken up with the fund of Non Lapsable Central Pool of Resources (NLCPR).
The construction was started in 2008.The estimated cost of the bridge is about Rs 5 crore.
He further said that completion of the construction of the bridge is targetted within the financial year 2009-10.Works Minister, K Ranjit had also seen the progress of the bridge and has assured of completing it as soon as possible.
The MLA also announced that laying of water pipes at Kumbi Hawaipokpi will be completed very soon and start supplying drinking water to the local residents as a New Year gift.
Most of the roads have been asphalted under the funds of Centre's Special Plan Assistance (SPA), and the roads which are yet to be asphalted will be done very soon.
The MLA Local Area Development Fund belongs to the people of Kumbi A/C, Mangi said and assured that he would try his level best to make the constituency a developed one.
