STUDENTS OF five schools in Imphal following reported threat on them from the banned RPF outfit has decided not to participate in the march-past parade of this year Republic Day, a highly reliable source informed Hueiyen Lanpao.
The decision of the students was amidst the order of the state directorate of education(s) to participate a contingent each by six government institutions located in Imphal issued on January 14 last under order no.8/10-9/20087-DE(s) .
The order signed by the director, M Harekrishna said that each contingent of the six schools should be made up by 50 students each and thety should participate in the rehearsal being conducting at 1st MR ground in the morning from the date of issued of the order.
Following the order of the directorate, students of six selected government schools are participating in the rehearsal but since the receive of warning from the members of the RPF through the principals of the said six schools and directly to their homes, the students have decided not to participate in the mass-pass, the source said.
The schools which were ready to participate in the mass-pass included Ram Lal Paul Higher Secondary School, Ibotonsana Higher Secondary School, CC Higher Secondary School, Model Higher Secondary School, Johnstone Higher Secondary School and Tamphasana Higher Secondary School.
A highly reliable source said that except the Model Higher Secondary School, other schools have decided not to participate in the R-Day mass-pass parade and the same has been intimated to the director of education 9s) through the joint director.
