Ahead of the June 18 Uprising observation function, All Manipur United Clubs Organisation (AMUCO) today distributed monetary and gifts to the family of the victims of the uprising in 2001 .
The monetary assistant and gifts were distributed in a function organised at the office of the AMUCO today.
In that, monetary assistances to support in the study were given to the son of June 18 Uprising victim Laitonjam Rajkumar, Gokul of Uripok and Kshetrimayum Romeo of Singjamei Kshetri Leikai, Goldi.
Monetary and gifts was also given to Sorokhaibam Sobita who is living with handicapped after she sustained bullet injury.
This is the sixth time in which AMUCO extended to the victims of the June 18, 2001 uprising, arising out against the extension of ceasefire between Government of India and NSCN (IM) without territorial limit.
The function was graced by social worker, Th Iboyaima as chief guest and presided over by KT Rahman.
President of the Poirei Leimarol Apunba Meira Paibi Lup, Longjam Memchoubi attended as guest of honour.
Speaking as chief guest, Iboyaima said that those who sacrificed their live for the cause of the motherland got the fruit of giving birth as human being.
NSCN (IM) is still engaging in breaking the territorial boundary of the state.
The economic blockade imposing on the national highways is also part of the effort of the outfit, he added.
