Zeliangrong Students' Union Manipur has urged the State Government to immediately look into the matter of dilapidated condition of IT road.
The students union in a press release rued that no measure has been taken up so far by the Government to restore connection of Tamei-Kangpokpi road, which has been cut off for the past many days.
The stretch from Kangpokpi to Tamenglong via Tamei is in deplorable condition due to sinking of ground and landslides in many locations, said a press release.
The union also asked where the SPA fund for the construction of Kaiphundai to Tousem, Tamenglong to Tamei, Dikuiram (Barak) bridge and Namtiram (Barak) bridge has gone.
The students' body also asked what has happened to the plan of upgrading Old Cachar road (Tongjei Maril) into NH-53A.Zeliangrong Students' Union Manipur added that people want to live in peace, but the State Government always invites for bandh and strike with such negligence and mismanagement.
The union warned that the Government must be responsible for any untoward incident if the grievances are not attended in time.
