The press release stated that no clarifications or apologies would be sufficient to make-up for the oversight as well as the damage that has been done to the image of PREPAK.
However, there was nothing intentional in the mistake that was made.
On behalf of the management and staff of The Sangai Express English edition, the editor
rendered his unconditional apology to PREPAK.
He prayed that his apology be accepted for which act his shall remain forever grateful, his press release stated.
In
another press release regarding the same incident, General Secretary in charge of All Manipur Working Journalists Union (AMWJU) stated that the AMWJU expressed its
regret over the mistake by wrongly mentioning PREPAK in a news item of The Sangai Express English edition, dated the 2nd October.
The AMWJU appealed to all concerned not
to publish news report that might create confusion and misunderstanding among people.
If in future such a wrong news item happened to be published by anyone, the AMWJU
could not held responsible for it.
Therefore, all editors should take extra care, the AMWJU press release stated and added that AMWJU has censored the Editor of
The Sangai Express English edition.
