Petrol pump dealers have decided not to procure patrol and diesel from the government oil depot at Sangakpham until government take up appropriate action to check selling these fuels in the black market and modify government order regarding distribution of fuels in rationing system.
Dealers of IOC speaking to reporters at Manipur Press Club today observed that taking advantage of the economic blockade imposed on the national highways by ANSAM, many black-marketers flourished near the petrol pumps opening without any intervention from the authority concern of the government.
Meanwhile, state consumers, food and public distribution affairs issued an order on April 26 asking patrol pumps to distribute petrol and diesel at the rate of 4 kilolitre per day.
Following the order, customers of four-wheelers were allowed to buy only 10 litres at a time and five litre for two-wheelers.
Inter-district passenger buses were allowed to buy at the rate of 40 litre by the order which also asked the oil pump authorities to maintained registration numbers of the vehicles while selling the fuels.
By superseding earlier order, another order was issued stating that dealers can procure petrol and diesel from 12 to 20 kilolitre according to the capacity of oil tanker of the dealers but dealers are to produce the quantity of the patrol and diesel sale out while coming to collect next time.
But the government order asking dealers to submit a certificate issued by the state government that they abides by rationing system of the consumers, food and public distribution affairs is not agreeable.
