Imphal, March 17:
Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur (CHSEM) Secretary N Kunjabihari has today appealed to the leaders of the All Manipur District Council Teachers Association and All Manipur District Council Employees Union to exempt HSSLC candidates from the purview of its bandh which is scheduled to begin from midnight tonight.
Talking to media-persons, the Secretary, Kunjabihari stated that class XII exams is one of the most important exams in the career of a student as marks secured in the examination will decide his/her future academic course.
He also reiterated his appeal to all the organisations concerned to extend their help in completing the ongoing exams without any hindrances.
Asserting that the public has a big role to play in reviving the education system in the State which is deteriorating day by day, he requested the public as well all the organisations not to disturb the education sector while launching any agitation to air their grievances.
Meanwhile, All India Youth Federation Manipur Council has also appealed to the All Manipur District Council Teachers Association and All Manipur District Council Employees Union to call off its proposed indefinite bandh beginning from midnight tonight.
Asserting that the State wide bandh would not only affect the daily wage earners but would also create havoc to class XII students appearing for the HSSLC exams, ALYF urged the two bodies to look for other ways of airing their grievance without disturbing the academic atmosphere of the students.
It also urged the State Govt to look into the demands of the two bodies and help work out an amicable solution within a short period.
